Newsprint, also known as white newspaper, is the main paper used in newspapers and books. Applicable to newspapers, periodicals, textbooks, comic strips and other text paper. Newsprint has the following characteristics: light paper, good elasticity; good ink absorption performance, which ensures that the ink can be better fixed on the paper surface.
After calendering, the paper is smooth on both sides, without hair, which makes the impression on both sides clearer and fuller; has certain mechanical strength; good opacity; suitable for high-speed rotary printing.
This paper is made from mechanical wood pulp (or other chemical pulp) and contains a lot of lignin and other impurities. It is not suitable for long-term storage. If the storage time is too long, the paper will turn yellow and brittle, and the water resistance is poor, so it is not suitable for writing. Printing ink or book ink must be used. Ink viscosity should not be too high. Layout moisture must be strictly controlled in lithographic printing.
Because the raw materials used are mainly mechanical wood pulp, which contains essential elements and impurities, paper is not suitable for long-term preservation and easy to be damaged.
